Aunt Dofe’s Gallery is a contemporary art gallery located in Willow Creek, MT.

After receiving an inheritance from his beloved Aunt Dofe, Dave Kirk bought the old mercantile building in Willow Creek in southwest Montana, about 30 miles from Bozeman, and converted it to a residence, art gallery, and woodworking studio. Dave’s vision was to show and support contemporary Montana artists with no strings attached…no commissions and no formal agreements. After his death, the building sat empty until 2018 when Dave’s children decided to sell the building at auction. Juni Clark purchased the property and with careful restoration – being mindful of Dave’s vision – expanded the gallery space and upgraded the living and studio space for an artist in residency program. Aunt Dofe’s now has approximately 1,325 square feet of exhibit space in two galleries. Juni, born and raised in Montana, decided the small-town atmosphere of Willow Creek and authentic character of the 120 year old building are the perfect showcase for regional contemporary art.

Juni says Aunt Dofe’s is “all about the artist.” Her hope is that by opening this space for Montana and regional contemporary artists with no pre-conditions or entanglements, they will expand their scope and vision to new horizons, beyond what they would show in a mainstream gallery. The goal of Aunt Dofe’s is to become a nexus for the leading contemporary artists around the region, and a destination for experienced and sophisticated art lovers, as well as those just beginning their journey.
